try this!!!!!

hey,

"Tess built this prisim using centimetre cubes. then she painted the prisim red.
How many red faces have these?"

1.0 of the 4 red faces
2. 8 of the 3 red faces
3.12 of the 2 red faces
4. 24 of the 1 red faces

my song about math

hey hey hey you know what i say?
i say go wif my rythme and take your pencil and listen to me
i say measure 4 sides and then wif those 4 cool numbers add em up and thats what i call perimeter YA!
thats what i say.

heyy (i never thought i would do a little song about math but i guess i did now!)

how do i know which is which(perimeter and area

well today we were correceted the math and i thought i did it right but when we started to correct the perimeter and the area i got all area wrong because i forgot the squared and so when we did the perimeter i saw that i multiplyed all of them so i got those wrong as well so then i asked mrs.badger and she said base times hieght and that helped and i wrote all of the formulas down and now i won't forget them! yay!!

thats how i remember! you should try it, it really works (hopefully i get them right tommorow)
also i remember in my head area has squared and you mulitply and perimeter you dont have squared and you add so that also helps and it's quite easy.

how to find the area of a triangle and parallelogram

how do you find the area of the triangle?

first you measure the base of the triangle then you measure the hight of the triangle. then you multiply the base and the hight and then you divide the answer by two. you then have this number you don't know what to do with so just to tell you thats your new answer! all you have to do is add the cm2.

how to find the area a parallelogram?

first you measure the base and then you measure the hight and then you multiply them.So now you have this number then you divide it by two, then don't forget to write cm2. Also when you cut the parallelogram in half i turns into two triangles so when you measure the triangles they will still be the same base and hight and when you multiply the numbers usaully that answer and if you put that parallelgram on a graph paper example 24 is your answer then 242 squares would be able to fit into the parallelogram but if you cut in half the number would stay the same. there would be many less squares that would be able to fit into the triangle.

how to find the paralelligram

to find the perimeter i measure all the sides
2(L+W) and then you just multiply them all up
example...if you have a square and all the two sides are the same and the other two sides are exactly the same length then you measure the one side then you know that the other side is the same so then you mesure the other side and then you multiply them all up then you have your answer.

the missing measurment!!

we have to figure out what the missing measurement is.

41mm first you multiply 5cm by 10 (50), then you multiply 16cm by 10 (160),then you subtract 160 and 91 and you get 69 for the missing measurement.

the missing measurement is 69

5 cm

witch i perfer most?

well we had to decide wich way we perferd mostand i perfer Owens way most because...
he said... p=2(16+width) p=2(length+width)

i perfer that way more because it took way less time than the others and i didnt need to do a million steps to get the awnswer like i had to on the others.

reflection on the whole patterning unit

At first i really hated it and that was because i had no clue how to do it! but then i started to get the hang of it and i got really good at it! at first i thought the finding the patterns were the hardest and to this day i still do! i thought making the t-chart was the easiest to do because i just understood it most. but now i think it's kinda fun not really but kinda.!!!

my journal

i have learned that when you add all of the numbers up that you have to make sure that you dont forget to put the decimal and i learned that the hard way. i also learned that you can do them anyway like i thougt you could only do addition but you can do any kind of math to get the answer. also it's kinda hard!!
